Which flywheel
Im getting ready to buy a flywheel. I have an ACT 4 puck clutch, and getting ready to get the ACT Pressure Plate. I was thinking about getting the ACT Prolite Flywheel, but i also heard Zex has a good one. Just wanted to know if anyone has used them. I was also wondering if you could tell any difference. Thanks

It all has to do with rotational mass... When they weigh less, they will spin up faster and give you better acceleration (not drastically but sufficiently). But, there is such thing as a too light-weight flywheel. If they are too lightweight, the engine will lose inertia (in between shifts when the clutch is engaged, the RPM's will drop a lot quicker which is no good) Anyways, stock ones weigh 15-18lbs. If you plan on getting one, dont go under 11 lbs or you will lose that precious inertia.

If i shouldnt go below 11lbs, how come most people make thier flywheels around 8lbs. I know ACT makes one around 11, or at least i think.

I just got my ACT StreetLight flywheel in the mail... 11.9 pounds of forged steel. Looks damn good to me!
'Extremely' light weight flywheels will also be hard on your engine at idle... you might find it tough getting it to idle smoothly at stock settings.
