2g Parts in a 6 bolt Engine
My biggest problem about the 6 bolt engine is the 2g parts. when i order parts should i order them for the 90-94 models or the 95-99 models? Like when i want to get new pully's should i order the older versions or the newones for the 2gs? http://www.machv.com/macvalpulkit.html
So my question is should i order 1g parts or 2g parts for my 6 bolt engine?

its a 1st gen motor so use the 1st gen parts... alteast for the pullies and the other exterior parts, for the internal parts the 2nd gen pistons and rods will work but the crank will not! anything that bolts on to the engine usually has to be from the same generation, give or take a few parts! good luck

just tell them you want a six bolt motor... and if they still dont know tell them you want a motor from 90-92 out of either a turbo eclipse, talon, or laser! just look at it and see if it is a six bolt or not!
you do know how to tell if it is a six bolt right? --- six bolts that hold the fly wheel on (just incase you didnt)

Re: 2g Parts in a 6 bolt Engine
Some 92s are 7 bolts
![]() For anything internal use 6 bolt parts, except for pistons if you want the higher 2g compression. For externals stuff it depends on what swap you doing. Just the block? Everything inside the timing belt cover will be 6 bolt (use 91), everything else will be for your year car. If you do the whole motor swap with head then many more parts are going to be 1g parts. See the swap guide at www.magnusmotorsports.com for a list of what is used from your car and what is required from a 1g/6 bolt. that will give you a general idea.
