FMS underdrive pulley install
i had a local parts store/garage switch the alternator pulley for me, then i did the water pump pulley with ease. the only one left is the crank pulley, which is being a major PIA! it wont turn so i can rotate it and regular allen wrenches dont seem to fit too well. any suggestions? thanks

The crank pulley will not rotate easily with or without the belt on. Hmmmm, I thought the crank pulley was the easiest one to swap
 . Do what I did. Jack up the front of the car, then just crawl under there and unbolt the stock pulley. It should be easy to unbolt as the crank will not spin freely like the other pulleys. Then swap the new pulley on and screw the allen bolts in with your fingers so the pulley is atleast on there. Then tighten down each bolt using an allen socket. Piece of cake  Chris if you want I can help you with it. I have a hole set of allen wrench sockets that will attach to a 3/8" socket wrench. Let me know if you need a hand, but I think you should be fine. Also, the allen socket size you need to use is size 8.

i have dirt and everything else caked on that crank. i got one bolt out, but all the others it would be like taking a shot in the dark with just trying to get the allen wrench in. chris if u see this before u go to work today (if you're even working) could you bring those allen wrenches to work? i have those small ones that you need to turn by hand. they dont fit in a socket. if you could, that would be awesome. thanks

i would leave the car in neutral. i turned a crank pulley once on my '86 4-banger, and the car rolled forward =D
as for the caked-up bolts... get brake parts cleaner and PB blaster. spray with the cleaner first, get all the crud off. then put the pb on each bolt and wait for a little while. should come out a little easier. oh yeah... wear safety glasses or look away... i've had brake parts cleaner in my eye before... not fun. good luck =)

Congrats on getting the job done. Im not sure why you wanted the crank to turn if you where trying to break bolts loose. But, if you ever do want it to turn fairly easy try removing some spark plugs, atleeast the #1 spark plug. That way your not fighting compression
