Exclamation B18 into a 99 SI and need help on how to make it pass emissions

I just bought a 99 civic SI without an engine and i want to put a B18c in it. I just found out that it is going to be very expensive for my car to pass emissions since it only has sensors designed for a b16. What i want to know is if there is a kit out there i can use or a website that can give me instructions on how to make my car pass emissions. I want to cut cost then rather pay somebody thousands. Please help.

aslong as the engine is 99 or newer and you have all the 02 sensors and emissions equipment you'll pass. unless you're in cali and it's a JDM motor, then there are ways around it, but none of them are easy.

Yeah, keep the b16, no need to spend money on a swap.

wut are you guyz talking about keep the b16???

he said he bought the car with no motor.

Ok first off, you are going to have to get the same year or newer motor if you want it to legally pass smog from wut ever car u want.As long as the car is idleing fine and you do a major tune up on it, it should pass smog no problem. I've also heard of using a V-tec controller and change the engagement to around 7grand so that when being smogged it will run smother and cleaner then say if v-tec kicked in.

Well, what I have is a 2000 gsr block and a 94 gsr head. I just wanted to know if there is a kit out there or a website that offers a solution to my problem. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

it should pass with no problems unless you remove the cats and such, if you keep everything that should be hooked up and have a obd2 engine with no codes after the swap, as long as the motor is in good condition it will pass with no problems, if you are worried toss in a bottle of that garenteed to pass emmisions stuff but thats only if you think it wont run that clean.

Okay, the "guaranteed to pass emissions stuff" is stuff you find at an auto parts store...thats what it's advertised to do...they say you dump this stuff in via instructions on the bottle, and you're guaranteed to pass emissions. Now I have never used it, so I don't know what it does or if it works, etc...but it says guaranteed to pass. How they back that up? I don't know, I think the bottle says, never cared to look. Go to an autoparts store and look around, they should have something like that.

Now...to for your the motor swap 99SI problem. Some of this has been posted in here already, but for calarity, since you are still confused, I'll list it all and what you need to know.
First, you'll legelly need a motor the year of your car or newer, so 99+. You said the block is 2000, head 94. I don't know if they'll noticed, so take that as you will.
Second, you'll need to run it with the proper OBD-2 ecu. You'll need to keep ALL the stock GSR sensors that came with the motor stock, etc. This is weather they are used or not. They need to all be there. All the O2 sensors, ODB-2 sensors. Every peice of emissions equipment that came with the motor stock, it has to be there. If it's damaged or missing, replace it.
Third, you'll definatly need a functioning Catylitic Convertor for your car. That is part of the emissions system. The B16A cat should work. All the sensors for the OBD-2 the hook up around it should be there too.

This is what needs to be done to make the motor emissions legel in your 99SI. Please do not say now "Ok, by now i thought i would get some helpful tips but i guess not." These are helpful tips I have provided, and answer your question. joebowlr21, GScivic7, and IntegraB18LS covered some of this before, but you didn't catch what they said. So to answer your question of "So no one has any idea or info to provide?" Yes, we have info to provide. I have provided some, and the people above did too. That should help you out some.
