cd player

In my wife's 97 Jimmy the cd player has packed up. Putting in a disc, it spits it out again and the word 'Error' comes up on the display. I tried a cleaning disc and it spat that out as well. Any ideas?

Re: cd player

Is a CD-R that you brunt or a store bought CD?
Had similar problme with Saturn car- did not like CD-R disks.
Did you try another disk in player?

Try CD in you PC or home stereo.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried all the basic options, but it looks like the only thing it's gonna play is my wallet.

Re: cd player

I had the same problem with my player. I removed it from the dash, took the cover off, and cleaned the laser "eye". Problem solved. I had also tried cleaner disk.
