adjusting clutch cable?

Well ive been having trouble peeling out in my car even with an exedy clutch set up.Well my friend was telling me i need to adjust my clutch cable.It was really loose when i checked it so i thightened it but it still doesnt peel out it only chirps.Well i have about 1/4 onch of freeplay in my clutch pedal what could be the problem?my car is an HF with full si change over and i/h/e

Maybe you already tore up the clutch by trying to peel out. Rev that baby to red line & pop the clutch, that should help for peeling out but not good for the clutch/flywheel.
