4.6 or 5.4?

I have a 97 f-150 with a 4.6LV8. I am thinking about getting a new one. What kind of a performance difference is there between a 4.6 and 5.4? I am thinking about making it a sleeper so i was just wondering about how the two motors compared. not with horsepower numbers but just how they felt different when u actually drive them.

Re: 4.6 or 5.4?

The 4.6L will make more power (modified) than the 5.4L (because you cannot rev the 5.4 as much).

In daily driving, the 5.4L FEELS like a 460. Gobbs of Tq, and very respectable power. You will PAY for that at the pump. The 5.4Ls get about 2 MPG less than the same unit with a 4.6L.
