Speedo says no speedos

Hi everyone. My $500 throw-away car is not getting any speedometer action. It was working with the E-brake light on but my brake fluid would boil when I'd drive with my E-brake at the first click. Now it just plain doesn't work at all. Any ideas where I can find pictorial directions on getting it out, and not destroying the dash with a hammer to do it, would be appreciated.
