Re: CV Joints? NEED HELP???
Time to not drive the car. Did you do the instal yourself or did you have a hsop do it.
They messed something up. It is possible that your wheel was not properly tourked on and it will create a thumping noisn and a waddling at higher speed. NOT A GOOD THING. Have it looked at VERY soon. |

The ratteling is b/c you are out of alignment or a rotor is all jacked.

Re: CV Joints? NEED HELP???
He didnt say anything about rattling. He said that it wobbles and makes a thumping noise.
Out of alignmet wont have a thumping noise. It may cause wobbling tho. I still tink that something was not put together properly. Upper control arm possibly? |

My friend heard wobbling on his jeep for a few days before his wheel came off in a parking lot. Good thing it wasn't during the road trip we took the day before at 110mph.

Re: CV Joints? NEED HELP???
Like i posted at the top. I thought it was the wheel because he said it was a thump and then it became a wobble at higher speeds. So im thinking its the wheel. That happend to my friend in his prelude.

Generally speaking CV shafts do not *thump* the can click, pop, grind a little.. and make a funny feeling in your steering wheel, and your pocket book.. what you are saying doesn't sound like a CV shaft at all. It's something in your wheels or could be in your transaxle.. which would suck.. but i would check for tires, rotors, something in that area!

This was also happening when i first got the car. But i had on of the best people in my town install the stuff for me. Also i got a 4 wheel alignment afterwards. Should i go bak to them and have them look at it again, the ones that put them on? Or should i go somewhere where they could look at everything for me. What kinda place would that be? Thx for the help. |
