1997 C2500 headlights keep the engine running problem.

I have a wierd electrical problem with my truck. The daytime running lights are always on, even when you click over to the high beams. The parking brake will not turn the drl off either. However, the strangest problem is that when you have the head lights on low beam and you turn the ignition off the truck will stay running until you click over to the high beams or switch the lights off. And with the truck not running, when you turn the headlight switch on the fuel pump starts up and the gages move like when you turn the key on. Anyone run into this problem before?
Thanks
Chad

My suspicion is a grounding issue. Make sure the body, frame, and interior are all grounded to the battery. This sounds to me like various electrical components are seekigngrounds, through other components if necessary. Ray
