NO 4-lo or 4-hi!!!!!

when i go to use my four wheel drive (hi or lo) the light lights up but doesnt engage...the auto four wheel works fine.. any suggestions would be appreciated..thanks

i had the same problem...my 4x4 light wouldn't come on but i'm guessing that its your ACTUATOR. it costs $110 at the dealership and all it is an electical 4x4 engager and if you look on some other forums and search on the internet you will see that a lot of people have the same problem. gm makes them pretty weak and they don't hold out if you do much driving in 4x4...if its not that you might look to see if the wires and/or shift lever to your transfer case are connected good....good luck
