Recently Purchased Respirator Mask

I recently purchased a respirator mask and was wondering if it was worth the money and if it will work.

It's a DEGIL product. 7 IN 1 Respirator

It is said to be suitable for : laquer & Enamel Paints, Pesticides, Welding, Dusts and Non-Oil Mists.

Do you need more info? Because if it's not worth it I'll get a refund.

Re: Recently Purchased Respirator Mask

Sounds good. I had one of those cheap mask's that you can just get at Wal-Mart, and I didn't see that there was a hole in it, and my head hurt so bad after painting.
Always use a good mask.

I think you need one of those respirator masks that have filters for chemical gases. If you get those, you won't be able to smell paint for sure! I know 3M makes 'em, well, the filters atleast. I'd return it, i trust no one except 3M!!!

are the carbon cartridges tightly sealed, you also gotta make sure its tightly sealed around your face too. if it still doesnt work, you probably have a bad cartridge. i guess you can either return the whole thing, get a new cartridge or just a 3M respirator.

The mask you're looking for is one with replaceable filters that are labeled as for removing organic solvants. It also has to fit well- no leaking! The smell test may or may not work. So, if it fits well and has removable organic solvant filters, you're in good shape. If not, find another that does (assuming whatever retailer will accept a return on a used item!).

We use 3M masks at work and it completely filters out all the laquer.

One thing to remember if that if the mask uses an active filter, like the 3M, you have to store it in a sealed container as it will keep filtering even if you're not wearing it.

Mike.

I agree with the others. If you are not getting a good seal, return that sucker.
