Re: Green Wire on fuel pump relay

um, you have to be a little more specific, by "fire" i'm assuming you mean power, and what is the problem exactly, is your fuel pump not turning on?. Have you traced the wire back to make sure it's secure and not broken or chaffed anywhere? take your multimeter and set it to Ohm's, then hook one lead on each end of this green wire and if it's not broken it should read Zero ohm's (or really close to zero) if it reads high then you likely have a break somewhere. have you tried to jump the relay to see if the fuel pump kicks in? if you find the wire to be in good shape then you probly have a bunk computer. Now i know this is a dumb question but if the fuel pump isn't working, did you make sure the key is in the on position? the fuel pump only runs for maybe three seconds when you hit the key, it's not continuous. Ok i'm done for now.....hope this helped, if not then it's probly because i had to assume everything your having problems with. let me know.

Re: Green Wire on fuel pump relay

I have jumped the relay and the fuel pump runs i have check the ohm's on the green wire and i have replaced the computer I still get nothing ?? Yes the key has been on and yes i know it only runs for a short time 2-3 sec. i have checked all fuses i have checked oil pres. switch, still nothing. I do relize that this is a simple system IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME.

Re: Green Wire on fuel pump relay

ok...the relay has four wires going to it 1)green wire from computer 2)black wire to ground 3)(whatever color) wire to fuel pump 4) (whatever color) wire power input. Do you know how a relay works? (not being a smartass i just don't know how much you know) so if you supply power to the fuel pump wire (whatever color) it turns on, and you don't get power from the computer (green wire) and you are getting good ground (black wire), and you have a good power supply into the relay (whatever color) then it must be on the computer circuit (i'm just kinda re-capping out loud). And if you have changed the computer and checked the green wire and all that then my only other idea is maybe the truck has a collision sensor in it (depending on the year). I know Mustangs will shut off the fuel pump it they get hit hard enough, i wonder if maybe your truck is newer and has one of these, it can't be the computer or green wire failing because they have been checked and therefore eliminated. So i would be looking for something that causes the fuel pump to turn off automatically, which would explain why your not getting "fire" on the green wire. Other then that i am fresh out of ideas, sorry. Let me know.

Re: Green Wire on fuel pump relay

the best thing you can do is to run a power lead from the battery right into the gastank ground wire it will help your mileage and it will run good
