Just incase someone misses the thread on the tb coolant bypass
Just wanted to make this another thread incase someone missed it posted in the other mods thread. This mod takes out the throttle body coolant line. Gm did this for trucks that might be driven in extremely cold conditions. Basically, the warmed coolant is sent through the throttle body to help warm the air on extremely cold conditions to help the truck heat up faster. A good thing to have if the temps. in your area are extremely cold, but not so good to have if you're trying to keep the air cold going into the throttle body.Posted are a few pics of where the throttle body coolant line is on the throttle body and a few things you need to do this simple mod.

Re: Just incase someone misses the thread on the tb coolant bypass
Will it give as much power as advertised? I've read that 8hp can be gained.

Can't honestly say how much, but it does help keep the air cooler going through the throttle body and it is a very inexpensive mod. Anything cheap and easy is a good thing.

Re: Just incase someone misses the thread on the tb coolant bypass
I just did the mod in about a hour, not too hard at all, just a busted knuckle. Can't really tell a difference, but at least I know my air is cooler.
