On my 1999 Silverado (4.3 liter) the low coolant message indicator lights every so often. First occurred during the hot weather in August and just happened again after driving 15 minutes in 20 degree weather.
In both cases the coolant level checked to be just fine and the light went out after restarting the truck. I don't know if I'm or is this just a computer glitch!!Anyone else run into this type of problem with the message center. If so, what was done about it. Thanks for your replys. |

Re: Low Coolant Indicator on Message Center
You Have A Intermittent Problem Check Connection At Engine Coolant Level Switch Its Location Is On Side Coolant Bottle Also Check To See That Ground Wire Bolt Is Tight.the Bolt Is On Head Rh Front Of Engine Make Sure Its Tight If This Dos'nt Work You May Half To Change Coolant Level Switch

Thanks for the tip
I'll check on it as soon as the outside temp gets above 10 degrees. Too cold to be outside lately |
