4g63 swap query
i need a new motor for a 1990 eclipse GS-T that i just blew up. my only real question is should i get a rebuilt long block or should i get one of the jdm cyclone motors? or is there something else to go for? i've heard you can stick a couple of the early evo engines in it as well (not sure really). i am planning on modding/racing this. i don't have much knowledge of this subject so any help is appreciated.

Re: 4g63 swap query
You can go either way, they are all the same block (through EVO3). THey all do up to 500 whp (6 bolts of course, not 7s).

If you are truely serious you can purchase a 1G 4G63 JDM motor with Intake Manifold, Distrubator, Alternator, and Bulletproof Tranny thats turbocharged or you go the cheaper route and get the normal 4g63 that totals about a grand with shipping and the 4G63 Turbo pulls out about 2 grand with forged internals and bulletproof tranny with shipping.
Go with these guys they are truly good. http://www.totaljdm.com/?id=40320 |
