Caught!
Three men were arrested in Virginia and admitted to vandalizing more than 25 SUVs as well as construction equipment, fast food restaurants and other property. The three were associated with the radical group, Eath Liberation Front. According to court documents, "one of the vandalism acts involved an attempt to blow up the fuel tanks of a crane and other motorized construction machines..."
As the US Attorney prosecuting the case explained, the vandalism was "not some kind of political expression. Such violent conduct is not an appropriate way to express discontent with environmental policy and will not be tolerated. What they did endangered people." Read article

Good. Maybe they can help catch others.
There's always a better solution to a problem than endangering others, and destroying property.
