ALL,
I'm new to this forum, I joined hoping to find a solution to this problem. My 96 Max is automatic and last year the tach needle started to jump and erratically swing all over the dial. Sometimes it reflects reality and runs smooth. Warm or cold doesn't matter, the engine runs fine throughout the problem. I had come across it before years ago with another car and it was just a cable. The dealer says there is no cable just a sensor?? The dealer is at a loss, to try to fix it. Thanks, |

yep, there is no cable. its probably the sender on the tranny, or the gauge itself. I'd say its the sender on the tranny.
