quiet flashers?
Does anyone know of any type of signal flashers to swap with standard that do not make the "clicking" noise when you use turn signals?

Re: quiet flashers?
I tried the electronic flasher instead of the stock thermal unit, sounds exactly the same;CHEAP!

Re: quiet flashers?
I think the noise is a DOT requirement so that you know that your turn signal is on. Another stupid law if it is true, but that is what I heard.

Re: quiet flashers?
I love the Aurora for doing the "DING DING" and displaying "TURN SIGNAL?" on the DIC. There's one 30 degree turn near my work that doesn't automagically shut the turn signal off, and, if I'm alone in the car with my XM cranked, I don't hear that the signal is still going. (Now that I know this, I check each time I turn there).

Re: Re: quiet flashers?
My 97's reminder works, but it takes about 20 seconds to activate.

Re: quiet flashers?
Someone on another forum posted that the changed out his flasher for an electronic one designed for RV's... made a better sound. I'll email him and ask him for the details (the flasher on my Aurora sounds identical to the one on the '70 Nova I had when I was learnin' to drive :-)

Re: Re: quiet flashers?
An owner on the old GM Forums wrapped it in some kind of insulation and got it completely silent.
