Talking finally got one!!

i just bought a red '97 lude. god i love it. i feel sorry for it tho...its my first time driving a manual, so my clutch is not having a good time. I'll learn tho :-D (besides...carmax has a 30 day warranty period...so i can burn it the heck out...and have them replace it....free )

the hardest part for me is getting from 0 to ... anything. once i get it moving though...whew...what a rush! don't have any trouble hitting 4th and 5th gear

btw...i went from a 1992 ford aerostar...to my new baby (the 'lude), so I'm in heaven for now

and to think...i used to trash hondas...

Re: finally got one!!

Aerostar to a lude, thats big change. I doubt car max will replace a "burned" up clutch free, just a bit of advice.

Practice releasing the clutch in 1st gear without using the gas. This way you will get the feel much quicker & not tear it up as much. Once you can fully release the clutch without killing it, your good to go.

Never down shift to first, under 5mph is ok.

I usually only go down to first if I'm stopped, or I stop the car, then put it in first. to get to first easier while the car is moving a little bit, you might have to bump the gas so the gear pops in easier.

lol...wat do you think????

of course i wanna mod it...after i find some cash. i'm more broke than the aerostar thats still sitting outside taking up good parking space.

Planned order of...modding
=======================
1. tints
2. muffler tips & halogens (friend can hook 'em up at store cost)
3. keyless entry/alarm
4. intake
5. headers
6. exhaust
7. catalytic converter
8. supercharger <----by the time i can afford that...the prelude might have already made a comeback and i'll be in middle age crisis (i'm 18 atm)

i know i'm starting with the visual stuff first, but then again, i have 60 payments to make and the visual stuff is cheapest
