I have a 97 Honda Accord, and I'm trying to install a Clarion DXZ825 CD deck in it. I picked up the Metra wiring harness at best buy, and I have double checked and re-wired the thing 4 times, and still everytime I hook it up, I still can't get power to the deck.
I've even tried my deck in my brothers jeep to see if the deck was fried, but it played fine in his. PLus I also through the factory radio back in to make sure it wasn't anything else, and that also worked fine. What am I missing? Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

Re: 97 Accord, Wiring CD deck tried everything
how are you wiring this up? there are three connections required for operation, power, ground, and switched. check the factory side of the harness to make sure the wires are there to match the metra harness. then make sure you are matching them up right, i don't use metra harnesses, but most are color coordinated. but read the color designations.

Well, I found out the problem. Turned out it was a fuse that got blown under the hood. Aprently the factory deck doesn't use this fuse...but it is used for aftermarket decks...go figure. But yeah, that would be the last ditch problem I guess.
