Question BackUp Light Problem

I'm having problems with the backup lights on my 98 Ram1500. When I shift into reverse the lights will flash but not stay on. Wiggling the shift lever will sometimes get them on, but not always. Where can i adjust this? Is the switch mounted on the tranny, or on the column?

This wont help

I have the same exact problem with my backup lights. Ive been told that the switch is actually in the trasmission case...is that correct? I have a manual 5 speed...havent tried wiggling the shifter while in reverse to see if I can get the lights to stay on, but I have noticed that when it feels like it the flicker periodically.
sorry!

Mine is an automatic. But i think you are right about the switch actually being in the tranny. just have to figure how to adjust it.
Let me know if you have any luck.

BU lights

I replaced the switch...problem solved!

$15...switch is located right by the linkage on the driver side of the trans!

What happened to the day when you wired a bulb and it worked.
