tranny swap in 88 5.0

hey guys. first, i have a 1988 5.0 bird. i have owned all model types made that year. the 5.0 is the nicest. but i have a bad tranny. i want to know if i can take out the pos aod4, and drop in a C-6 w/out any major mods. let me know, i dont want to put in another aod. cause they fu#*ing suck. i want some gear slamming power.thanks. any input would be greatly appreciated.

as far as a c6 goes they are not pratical to use due to crossmember relocate exz system driveshaft and the weight i have a 88 turbocoupe that runs low 10s i use a c-4 and the good thing is it bolts right in i used a motorsport crossmember for a 5 liter same d shaft and same trans mount the yoke is the same for aod .c-4 .t-5 trans c-6 is different hope this helps just my 2 cents nick

an aod can be built for neck-snapping shifts, especially with 373 gears, and if built right it will take almost anything thrown at it, just my .02
