fuel injector

Where can I, other then a dealership, get the fuel injector assembly for a 1996 Blazer 4.3 Vin W?

Re: fuel injector

I've got to the point that I avoid dealers at all costs myself. Try www.rockauto.com or www.gmpartsdirect.com. Also note that Autozone has a rebuild that is said to be pretty good but I don't know if they have the inner fuel lines that, for sure, need to be replaced. Here's a web site that really explains the deal. http://forums.s-series.org/viewtopic.php?t=2278

Re: fuel injector

Mine goes into the dealership on Tuesday. When I get it back I will put it through some test to make sure that is what it was and then I'll post here.

Re: fuel injector

well I got the verdict on my 1993 4.3 Wseries
a serious fuel regulator leak...the diagnosis cost me $40. and now I am trying to order the parts needed...the Mech said it would be good to replace the whole CPI unit...and I may order the internal lines...$40. at the same time...I am trying gmpartsdirect. now...Best Wishes...MJohn

Re: Re: fuel injector

lindertech.com also has the all the parts for the CPI injection. Great for power and fuel mileage, but expensive to fix.

Re: fuel injector

I just ordered...a new AC Delco...CPI unit from rockauto.com...and 321.22 with 2 business day delivery...I have not gotten the CPI unit yet...but and wondering will this contain the fuel pressure regulator...or will I still need to buy and install that?
I checked lindertech and they were higher on the cost for the CPI unit...but the fuel pressure regulator was 99. at lindertech...Thanks for your help Jethro...and I'll bet it is cold in Canada now...
I'm in MN and driving an old Ford Van cargotype...while I fix my Jimmy...not much comfort...

Re: fuel injector

well I got my car out of the shop yesterday. I haven't really had time to test it out to make sure it was fixed but so far so good. We will see in the next couple of days and I'll post back.

Re: fuel injector

mjohn; The CPI you'll get is an updated model with regulator built in all one unit. Those inner fuel lines are a problem though, you'll see what we mean when you get in there. Only difficult part is the bolt in the fuel line retainer at the rear of the intake, tight and hard to get to.

Re: Re: fuel injector

That bolt on the back of the intake is a bi@#h!, My only advice is to get a new set of torx when you go to get it off. mine stripped with a new bit and we had to beat on the bracket to bend it out of the way to get one of the lines out so we could get the vise grips on the bolt. Very bad design, I would like to smack the guy who came up with that one. a regular bolt would have been much better. Just be care if you end up doing that, wouldn't want to crack the intake manifold.
