JDM Type R Conversion! Good or Bad idea?
Lots of people on this Forum are talking bout the JDM Conversion, but I wanna know if its a good idea to install it. Last week my friend bough a 97 Integra LS and is thinking bout getting the JDM Conversion. Is it a good idea or bad? And does anyone know a good site or shop anywhere in Cali with a cheap price??

Well I think it looks extremely clean. I love it! But sadly it is becoming a real common thing to do so it is loosing its unique factor.

It's up to you whether you want it or not. I'd rather put that money into a turbo setup. |

turbo is nice...OTHER than the BOV (sounds sick, but don't buy a turbo only for that.)
if ur frien wants to go looks first, then that'd be a nice upgrade from the stock bumper. if he wants speed...wut jdm said...TURBO! btw...if he goes for a jdm front, DON'T look for cheap prices. get quality parts and have a shop w/ a good rep install/paint it for u.

Personal opinion, but the CL lights just kill the Integra's good looks. And they're pretty common around my area, way more common than a JDM Integra.

Re: JDM Type R Conversion! Good or Bad idea?
If I had to do it over again, I'd get a 98+ bumper/headlights with ITR lip (about $400) and paint the stock side skirts. I'd also add an ITR wing. I think that's all the car needs. Take the rest of the money and spend it on fun parts.

Since the Conversion is expensive, what front Bumper should i get. I like the Buddy Club bumper and the Black Widow. What bumper do yall like.

Re: JDM Type R Conversion! Good or Bad idea?
Personally I like the OEM 98+ bumper w/ Type R lip or a Tsunami lip. If you're set on a full bumper cover I'd say the Cwest knockoff.

I thought this was your friends car... I like the andys combat kit alot except for the rear bumper because it shows everythign behind the bumper throught the mesh. I saw a ITR dropped with that kit and some 17's and it was so sweet but then I saw the rear bumper and it didnt imp[ress me as much anymore, still nice but if i go with that kit I am gonna get a different rear.

stick with OEM/JDM parts because they will fit nicely and look as if it came off the showroom floor. andy's kits are lame and they will shatter to a million pieces in a collision. Their eurethane kits won't fit properly like OEM so you'll spend too much time shaving or molding it to perfection, and even in the end it looks bad. if you want to go el cheapo, then do your fiberglass aftermarket crap. CL lights are way too gay because now you're not trying to be an integra. A CL wannabe? Someone needs to slap these kit designers in the head. Ask them if they've seen any of these ugly body kits ever make it on F1 race cars? Or Auto-X or any professional race teams? All I have to say is, if you're going to waste your money on some ugly fiberglass wannabe conversion, STOP, and think for a minute because you'll be stuck with this look until they go out of style (if they haven't already), and it just may convince you to sell your ugly car for a new FACTORY one to start over with. Sure the obvious alternative is a turbo. Why isn't anyone impressed with the 1.8L DOHC VTEC 170 horsepower that it already puts out? Sure, go half assed on a turbo and end up wearing down your motor fast or blow your engine up all together. You're talking about a $2500 front end compared to a turbo that should cost somewhere around $4000. Sure you could buy a turbo setup for $2500 but good luck getting it to run properly if you're on that kind of budget.
