Unhappy 97 Grand Caravan dies at high speeds

I have a 97 Grand Caravan 3.8 litre that drives great but if I drive over 80 mph for 5 minutes or more it will lose Rpm and die off or run very poorly for a while like it on 4 cylinders instead of 6. After 5 minutes or so in the off position it will start like there was never a problem and drives fine untill I go fast again. Let me know if anybody has had the same experience. I"m thinking that it might be a fuel filter. Also if it rev's over 4000 rpm my engine light comes on. I took it to the shop and pluged it into the comuter and said that it is misfiring in one of the cylinders. I changed the plugs and wires but it still does the same thing. I wonder if it is related to the engine dying at high speeds or RPM's ?

Re: 97 Grand Caravan dies at high speeds

I have the same problem to a "T". My SES light comes on and it was code 32 which is EGR Problem. This is not an uncommon problem and I'm sure someone out there has the answer. I plan on changing my EGR valve but not until this weekend. I'll keep you posted.
