Sketchbook Size?
Hey everyone,
I'm new here and was just wondering, what do you find to be the best size sketch book to draw cars in? Maybe it's a silly question, but I'm just interested in seeing what the majority uses.. I'm not sure if a 7"x10" sketch book is too small? |

i use regular printer paper for most of my sketches. occasionally i go to A3 size paper (exactly twice the size of the printer paper) but i feel more comfortable on the printer paper. just go with whatever feels the most comfortable for you. if you want it to be bigger, just draw it the size you feel happy happy with, then blow it up on a photocopy machine

Re: Sketchbook Size?
The bigger the page the bigger I draw, it's like an auto adjustment for me. But, if you need a sketch book you can't go wrong with regular 11" x 8.5"

Re: Sketchbook Size?
I use a nice 12" x 9". I'm very strict about my sketch books because I'm left handed so I like the binding at the top.

Thanks for the info guys... I appreciate it (although I did feel a little silly about asking).
I'm a newbie here and am in awe of your works!! I'll hopefully have some stuff to post soon.... Out of curiosity, am I the only female in this part of the forum? And are you artists on the side or are you in artistic fields? I'm in package & graphic design in college.... Thanks! |

I hate drawing in sketch books and on flat surfaces. At work I use 12x17 at an easel so with the tear bar keeping the paper on it's 12x16 working surface. Printer paper's cool though because its cheap. Like people said before, it's just what feels comfortable to you.

i use a4 sketchbooks. cant go wrong with them. large enough space for bigger more complete pieces, yet small and compact and you can take it everywhere
