99 Wolfsburg - headlight ? and slow accel.
Hi,
I have a 99 Jetta Wolfsburg (88k miles) that is having two problems. I'm not a car buff so am trying to educate myself before going to the mechanic. 1. The headlights - I can't get both to stay on at the same time. Had both replaced in Nov. 2 weeks later the left goes out. Get it replaced, a week later the right goes out. Replace it, 2 weeks later the left goes out. Over the weekend I had the left one replaced... TWO HOURS LATER the right one went out. Luckily the shop is replacing them for free but what gives? Is this a wiring problem? Battery? Power surges? Anyone else experienced something similar? 2. Slow acceleration - my car is an automatic but as it shifts from what would be 1st into 2nd and then 2nd into 3rd, it revs much longer than it should before kicking into gear. Browsing the forums, it seems as though it could be the transmission, the timing belt, the spark plugs, or some combination of all three. Am I on the right track here? Thanks! -A.K. |

1. I have never heard of that, quite odd. Its gotta be the wiring.
2. Check your transmission fluid.
