Question Corolla '78 Mod help!

Hi
Im a pround owner of a corolla '78 [having been challenged by someone to do it up] and Ive been thinking and planning of modifying it while keeping the original engine and such. Would it be much trouble bolting in a twin pair of 40 DCOE Weber Carbs and a bigger exhaust? How would I go about the Webers?
Also, Just to give it that better exterior appearance, how would I go putting in some lowered shocks [the ones on it now are in a pretty sorry state ] and some 17" alloys?

And I know, its a piece of crap, but it was a challege [Im up against an old Mazda] so I cant back out now

Heh, no, I know its not an rx-7 [did you think Id let him get away with one of those if I had to use an old corolla?] I forget what it was, but its body was in a really bad shape. I picked my corolla up for a cool $250 Aust. and the mazda for $400 I think
