Question amigo sputters

have a 94 amigo 2.6 l has 193000 miles but runs good . lately im noticing a sputering at low rpms mostly when starting out in 1st and 2nd .seems worse with a load on it like going up a hill.could this be fuek filter or injector problems doesnt seem electrical.wires and plugs are fairly new

I had the same problem with mine and a new distributor cap and rotor did the trick.

i took off the air cleaner and clened everything up with penetrating oil and sprayed the injectors with carb cleaner seems to be good to go now but still a bear to start im gonna try a cap and rotor anyways so well see what happens

If you can find an easy way of getting the cap off(aside from removing the engine), let me know. I think it took me about an hour to get it off and put the new one on. Of course it was about 10 below outside. Still, it's in a stupid location.

Hey....I have got the same problem wtih my 89 2.6 FI Amigo.....I have replaced cap, rotor, wires...checked all the vaccum hoses....Nothing has worked.... and yes the cap is a bear!!!!!
Next will be the fuel system and EGR valve!!!
If I find it...I will post it....do the same!!!

put a new battery in it and it starts great. even the check engine went out guess the pump wasnt getting enuf voltage or something like that
