In Progress!: <<Candy Apple Red Revell Enzo!>>

I got this kit a couple weeks ago for 17 bucks at my local hobby shop. At first I was going to do it in italian red, but now that I saw chrismcgee's 360 I decided on candy red. Also, after seeing EBEBO's black rims on his enzo I decided to give it a shot. (Thanks for the ideas, guys!). So far I've got the interior and the engine complete.
Body ready for candy red:

Bottom and sides of the engine:

The wheels:

The interior: (the pics make the interior look like the paint isnt even, but it actually looks quite nice in person)

(I know the steering wheel decal is missing. I lost it so I am going to order a new decal sheet)

Later today I hope to get the engine and everything in the chassis and I'll work on the suspension a little. Any and all comments are appreciated!

Looks good so far. I'll be waiting to see the candy red paint job. I love candy apple red. One of the best reds.
Interior looks good, but just a little too shiney.

Wow, I like everyones unique Enzos. Soon enough, 'plain' red ones will be rare.

I just laid down the first coat of the red. It's looking really nice. When it dries I'll get it inside and get some pics under good light. I'm very pleased with this color so far.

Here is the red!!! I really love this color. The pics make the color look light orange or pink, but they are really a deep wine color with some gold showing through.

This pic really shows off the color

Here you can see the gold
And it's super shiny

I used Testors 1244 Metallic Gold spray. The candy red is Testors 1605 Transparent Candy Apple Red spray.

Wah! That's your first model? It's really, really good. I've been in a real long modeling slump lately but I think once we move into our new house I'll be doing it more.

Thanks for the replies, guys! Got the rims done. I painted them semi-gloss black then put the decals on and glosscoated them.

Looks good! It's great to see people getting really good builds out of the Revell kit. But why do I imagine ol' Enzo himself rolling over in his grave at the idea of the phrase 'candy apple red' being applied to a Ferrari?

I think the black wheels are great. I'm thinking of doing that on my enzo (check out my sig)

Wow an all carbon enzo. I actually was thinking of that but I wasnt willing to attempt it. And as for Enzo, he should be glad. It looks better than from the factory. I probably won't get any noticeable work done until monday, so that's when you should expect the next update.

Re: In Progress: candy apple red Revell Enzo

Maybe its the pics, but it's really hard to tell that that's candy apple red. Maybe some outdoor pics would help?
