power loss in 3rd and 4th gears---ADVISE HELP!!!

Dear All,

Just wanted to ask what is the problem with my 1994 Nissan Sentra JX 1.4ltr manual transmission car.

The symptoms are as follows:

1. 1st gear is ok upto full throttle (full accelerator pedal)
2. 2nd gear does not have power if I step on the accelearator pedal to fast. As in, there is no power or torque at all.
3. 3rd gear is the same...no power.
4. I guess 4th gear is okay because I never used it to accelerate further.

In short, it is only the first gear that does most of the acceleration. If I am on 4th and downshift to 3rd to accelerate, it simply does not happen.

What do you think is wrong with my car?

sounds to me like you need to change your fuel filter. that needs to be done every 60,000 miles or so if that isn't it go get some fuel injectors. that should help

change your fuel filter and if that doesn't work, get new injectors you should be fine after that
