I have an '01 Yukon with door closing and grinding problems. I have tried to lubricate hinges but to no avail. Does anyone know if there is a fix for this problem? It seems like it is metal to metal on the hinges and the hinge show sign of wear. The vehicle only has 39,000 miles on it. Looking for some possible solutions. Thanks

I have the same prob on my 95. its beeing doing it for years and I just gave up. I think its because the doors are so heavy and we need to just keep lubing them.

Re: door closure
Are these the second row doors?

Re: door closure
If these are the second row doors you are having trouble with, I had the same thing on my 2000 Suburban. They sounded like the were grinding something up when the were being operated.
I replaced both door checks. Looked to see if the part was "updated" from the ones that failed, and it was not, so I suspect I will get to do it again at some point.
