Heater on 96 318ti

i have a 1996 318ti

i had some damage to my car, got it back for a month, noticed a small gas leak, body shop put the gas tank on wrong so they fixed it

well, since i got it back the car does not blow heat unless i push the gas pedal ....i could drive on the highway get hot air for like 30 min then get off exit and stay at some light and the heat will die

my dad filled my antifreeze up and the heat worked for a day without gas to it, but now that is not the case

any ideas?

Re: Heater on 96 318ti

Sorry,
I don't have any ideas, but i too have a 96 3318 TI and recently had my brakes go out and i went into a ditch and did major damage to it. About a month later i got the car back and it was never the same. The steering is rough, the brakes are horrible, my powersteering fluid leaks, and like you, my heater sucks now. Be happy that you don't have the problems i do. My opinion, i say it's just time for a new car. Just need monie

When this happened to my car, I changed the heater control valve and the problem was sorted. Cost £37 here, and job lasted less than 30 mins (including bleeding the system!).
