taillights not working for 2000 pathfinder

I have a 2000 Pathfinder SE. I recently found my taillights are not working although break, reverse, and turn signals all work as well as license plate light. I have checked the fuses and they all appear ok. The fuse that I found was located near the battery under the hood. I found the lights faulty after a major ice/snow storm which I spent most of my driving time in 4 high or 4 low (ice/snow storm may not be related to my lack of taillights, I just thought I would throw that out there for more information.) I am looking for any suggestion. Thanks

Re: taillights not working for 2000 pathfinder

I have the same problem - just happened! Nissan mechanic thought it was not a light or fuse issue but rather the electrical unit / light switch on the steering colume that you use to turn on the lights. Just his opinion over the phone. Let me know if you find out. Thanks
