Unhappy Car Will Not Lock - Help!!!!!

Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated. This one is a bit of a saga...

I brought my 1993.5 G20 into the local Circuit City (argh!!!) to get a new audio deck
installed. My car came with the Clarion powered speaker system stock. They did the
install with the power amplifier from the deck driving the amplifiers in the trunk. The
net result was a high level of noise (no surprise)...what was surprising was when I
brought it back, they indicated that this is SOP. Anyhow, after much discussion we
agreed that the problem could be rectified by bypassing the amplifier and driving
the speakers directly. The deck sounds good, but....my doorlocks will not go into
the lock position. The symptoms are as follows:

1. The front locks can not be locked with the key, interior switch or remote. When
you push the interior switch the lock bucks to the open position as though the
solonoid is powered.

2. The rear locks can be locked, but unlock when the front ones do so.

3. The trunk locks fine and responds to the remote.

Any one have any ideas what these monkeys might have done?

Thanx in advance

This idea is kinda far fetched, but maybe when they ran new speaker wire to bypass the factory amps, the new wires they ran are touching the locking mechanisms, and interfereing with the doors locking...

hey, it could happen.

Locking issues.

It sounds lilke they may have interfered with the central locking relays.

I'm an auto-electrician who installs security systems and car audio amidst other things and I must add I have seen this sort of thing happen a lot. If you can locate the CL relay unit, check that they haven't popped the connector out. Give it the once over.

The other thing to check is the fuse panel, make sure that you have no blown fuses in the midst. Inexperienced installers with a stray pair of sidecutters or screwdriver and a little knowledge are a pain.

On the subject.

If they also installed your amps and you have quite an amount of altenator whine, you may want to take it back to them and explain to their senior tool monkey that you want the RCA cables to be relocated AWAY from the power wiring.

Running RCA leads or any other lead carrying audio right next to power wiring is not wise. It's a basic car audio installation commandment - THOU SHALT KNOW WHERE TO RUN THE WIRING!

car will not lock

if locking relay had lost its connection. the doors would do naff all .
2 me it sounds like one of the doors is not recieving its lock comand.
so prepare. if you can disconnect one door wireing loom at a time and try locking the door. only do this on the front doors as the back only recieve commands to lock and unlock they do not send commands out as the front doors do. try the drivers side first you may find that when you disconnect one door. the locking works as normal appart from the door you have disconnected so it gives you better chance to locate the problem. sod it i would just take your car back to the wombles who messed it up and let them sort it.
