Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs

Anyone have the Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs installed onto there 02-03 X's? If so, can you tell me if there pure white? Do they produce any yellowness at all? I would also appreciate it, if whoever has it installed can post some pics. I will soon post my X's current lighting once i learn how to do it on here. Thanks guys, hope someone could help me!

They aren't quite pure white. To get pure white you would have to go to true HID lighting or those fake rice boy lights with so much blue coating the light output is reduced. The Silverstars and the PIAA XtremeWhite bulbs (both are 4000K) are as close as you're going to get with good output and without going to HID's.

Re: Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs

Are you serious?.....and I was just about to purchase some slyvania's to test them out too... My Piaa's don't look white at all...well maybe from head on view, but in an angle......it pretty much brighter from stock bulbs.. Maybe the bulb varies depending on the vehicles? Hey chuck, check out this element site, this guy installed some and he shows side by side photos of the stock vs. silverstar.

scroll down and look at it, it looks pure white to me, don't you think? well let me know, Thanks again!

Do you have the PIAA SuperWhite of the XtremeWhite? The SuperWhite is 3800K, the Xtreme is 4000K, just like the Silverstar. If you have the SuperWhite then you will see a difference going to the Silverstar. I've had the Silverstars, the PIAA SUperWhites, and the PIAA XtremeWhite in my truck (I have clear lamps just like yours but square) and couldn't tell any difference in the whiteness of the light between the PIAA Xtreme and the Silverstar, but both were noticeably more white than the SuperWhite. THe only difference I could tell was that looking at the light itself, the Silverstar has a purple tint and the PIAA XtremeWhite has a blue tint, which makes sense since the Silverstar has a purple coating and the PIAA has a blue coating. ANyway, the actual output appeared the same to me and as far as I can tell the output on that Element is like what I got from the Silverstars and am getting from the PIAA's.

BTW, you should be ashamed of yourself for viewing the Element board!

Re: Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs

ahahahah I know i know....i'm just desperate on finding the right headlights w/o having to go HID (btw, E's can kiss it! X ownz them anyday). Just used there site to give you an idea of the side by side shot. I have the Piaa's Xtreme White Plus 9007 bulb and I have pictures from my digi cam, but i don't know how to post it with my posts. Maybe i should upgrade my wiring harness? (don't even know how, just heard ppl do that) or should i try Catz 4300k HB5 bulbs? (hard to find though)......cuz my fog's once again are at 4150k and are Piaa's Xtreme whites too....and it is PURE WHITE, with a hint of purple, pretty much giving you lexus HID whiteness. I'll post the pics if you can help me do so.. thanks chuckh!

Yeah, I don't know why PIAA has the 4150K bulbs for fogs but not the main beams? Sounds like the Catz lights might be your best bet if you can find them. I've been meaning to look and see if they have those in the 9004 size to fit my Xterra.

I doubt you'll get any change with the upgrade harness...I know I didn't notice any difference. Infact, I wish now I hadn't bothered...I've had nothing but problems with the aftermarket harness I bought with the conncections not being good (lights coming on and off), and fragile connectors that have broken. You really only need to upgrade the harness if you put higher wattage bulbs in, which really isn't a bright idea anyway for other reasons. If you do want a harness upgrade though, the installation is pretty much just plug and play. I think I would make my own harness next time!

As for posting photos, I don't think this board hosts them anymore? You would need to find a place online to store them and link to. I don't have my web space anymore or I would offer to host a few.

just notice the headlights from the fogs and parking lights.......its super yellow compared to them, but still brighter than stock lighting.
The parking lights are installed with Piaa's Super White LED's.

Your host may not allow you to link direct to your photos. Are they hosted on a free server? If so, that's almost certainly the problem. If that's the case you probhably need to just link to your directory instead of trying to post the picture here.

As for the AF photo thing, I tried uploading awhile back and it seems everything is different and once I loaded the photo I couldn't find it and link to it? Isn't that Veird?

Re: Sylvania Silverstar 9007 bulbs

Hey chuckh, one last question..... lol i feel like a super noob... anyways, I finally found a seller that has some Catz "galaxy white" 4300k HB5 (9007) bulbs... still haven't bought them yet, but had to ask you this.. Since they are burning at 4300k, there shouldn't be any yellow present at all right? Looking at the kelvin temp. chart, there shouldn't be, but than again, it shows 4000k being pure white as well.... lol so what do you think? 4300k sounds just about white right? I mean Catz are a good brand i heard, ppl state that its up along side with piaa. If you want, give me your email addy and i'll send you some pics of the Catz bulbs, so you get an idea what the coating looks like. Thanks again in advance!

YAY FINALLY SOME PICS!!! I figured it out, lol!

Ok, what you are seeing is (headlights) "Piaa's Xtreme white plus 9007"
(parking lights) "Piaa's Super LEDs White"
(Fog lights) "Piaa's Xtreme white H3"
You can really notice the yellowness on the main headlight bulbs.... so i'm wondering will the Catz 4300k will do the trick! ehe i want them white just like my fogs....
