sorry to bother but i would like to know which is good for CRX also for long run..after the swap they'll be some other mods..such as add Vtec to it or turbo to it..

Re: A ? for B20 or LS

ok to start off with, i have fooled with both, the TQ on the b20b,z is insane because of the long stroke, but u have to sacrafice bad RS ratio, which inturn you cant rev high, but you realy wont need to, it also depends what this is goin into, cause you will experience alot of wheel spin, as far as reliability all stock motors are good, but more than likely you will be revin it us so go with a b18 its a great and very strong stock motor, and is excellent for boost, im building a ls/vtec which i would not recomend unless you know what your doin, because the RS ratio is 1.54 which is horrible, stock ls you will be lookin to run in the 15's depending on the car, and stock b20 be lookin to run any where from the 13.99 up to a low 15, as said i said depending on the car, if i were you id go ls completely rebuilt, forged internals and shoot a 100 direct port and be seein 12;s in a light car!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: A ? for B20 or LS

you can install LSD in about any tranny, but as far as what tranny, j1=JDm short gears,y1,s1 and ys1 are ls and have relatively long gears, it depends on the tuning of your car and your power band,if you motors makes 300 peak HP at 63000rpm, you wouldnt wast a tranny that has you shifting at just say 6k cause your loosin HP, the same as is you dont want to shift out at 9k when your loosing HP, it also depends if you goin to daily drive,1/4 mile, or Interstate-top speed, if you want high speeds go with one of the y,s,or ys1 trannys they have much longer gears , because in the j1 you realy dont want to run high speeds, it winds out very fast!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Re: A ? for B20 or LS

you will deff need to resleve it, i say resleve and bore it to 2.2, or just get a ls, resleve and bore it to a 2.0 and you be able to rev a lil harder that CRV, in your case the fastest motor realy is not the concern, its the most reliable, honestly, i say go with the ls, and turbo, you biggest concern will be getting the power to the ground, even with slicks, i think b20T will be a bit to much power for a beginner, just run strait b20 for a while then make the decision!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: A ? for B20 or LS

the parte will be the same price no matter if you have a b20 or a LS, just make sure you do it right the first time, BOTTOM end for reliability, and TOP end for HP
