240SX + Rims question

I have a 1998 240sx. say I buy 5zigen copse rims. size 17x7.5 with 205/40/17 tires would anything happen such as a wider gap in between the fender or the tires scraping on the fenders... I was wondering if also the width of the rim would affect anything

Re: 240SX + Rims question

the width would give you better traction, thats about all. oh and the gap would look smaller just cuz of the bigger wheels and thinner tires but it'd be the same, if you want the gap smaller you need shocks and springs or coilovers

205/40 on 7.5? Sounds a little stretched, though not dangerously so. Id go with at least 215 width if you had 7.5" wide wheel.s

yeah i think i heard that 215/40 was better for a width of 7.5but the 205/40 was part of the rim/tire package. i am trying to get a 215s with my package instead of a 205s

THe width of the tire isn't that much of a stretch, it solely depends on what you are going to be using your rims/tires for. IF you are setting up for drift they will be fine, because they will allow less sidewall flex and be able to break loose the tires more easily. However. If you are setting up for daily driving. In a 7.5 rim, you would want 225... best suited width.

As for whether that rim would fit on your car, it solely depends on your offsets. Do you have widefenders? I assume you have stock fenders... try using this link.... it works great
