Anyone play guitar

Hey i play a little and I have a CHEAP fernadaz acoustic and a fender strat eletric. I was at the local music shop the other day and I played a Seagull guitar It was nice I liked it alot and they are priced quite nice IMO. Anyway I'm in the market for a nice acoustic and I don't have the money to buy a martin or a taylor.

Re: Anyone play guitar

Why not just get an inexpensive Epiphone acoustic/electric or a Fender a/e? Whats your strat, Mexican assembled? Never heard of a Seagull...the guitar, not the animal.....

Seagull is a very nice acoustic, great quality and a really nice voluminous tone. Another acoustic you might want to look into is Art & Lutherie, I have one and it's what I play whenever I'm at home. I would use it for performances but A) it has no pickup and B) I can't bring myself to cut a hole for the preamp, I'm scared it might ruin the tone. One thing you might want to look at is the action(distance from string to fretboard). Mine was really high on the art and lutherie but some careful filing and sanding on the bridge and nut brought it right down to where I like it. Any more questions feel free to ask and I'll try to answer.

i try... self taught, it's really not that difficult of an instrument. i have 2 acustics, one's a vintage Orlando, and... i don't remember what the other is. and a strat that i've converted to a strat body with 2 gibson humbuckers. it's not ALWAYS best to listen to the people in the shops, when it comes down to it their main goal is : sell you a guitar... just make sure you get something that you feel comfortable playing, it has to fit you as well as sound good. if it doesn't, what good is something that might sound great, but you can't make it 'cause you aren't able to make your hands work with the instrument (e.g. fingerboard too wide or thin).

That's a laugh. It's not that hard to play the guitar, but it's very hard to be a guitarist. Anyone can learn a few chords, but to actually play well, with style, finnesse and skill, or to fit in smoothly with the rest of a band takes practice, talent, and alot of study. What's the relative minor of G#, how do you modulate from C major to A major? Don't know? Probably because you aren't a musician. Sorry if that was a bit flamey, but I'm a bit passionate about music.

well, the relative minor of G# is F... that one's easy, relative minor is the 6th note of a scale... (it's easier to count 2 back though) and what do u mean 'modulate' from C major to A major... i'm assuming you are talking about switching the key sig., if it's a natural major, you just add F# C# and G#. i'm quite passionate about music as well, but have never been that into theory.

Re: Anyone play guitar

I tried to play guitar, thought I would take lessons, but then I found drumsticks, and the rest is history...
