Re: Maintance Required light blinking to much
It will start staying on all the time soon. It is just reminding you that it has been on for a while. You need to reset it. Look under the dash and you will find a box with a button in it press and hold this button until the light goes out.

is it a "just for shits and giggles" light that acura puts in there? or is it trying to tell me something?

Re: Maintance Required light blinking to much
They put it there to remind you to bring it back for service. Have you had the engine coolant changed? It is supose to be done at 75k and then you will need to get your timming belt and water pump hanged and the valves adjusted at 90k.

It's there because most people think maintenance is not needed. Proper maintenance is key* There is no reason to skip/late the timing belt replacement, for your own sake replace the water pump. The light comes on about every 7500 milesCustomer brings in a car for t/belt replacement & declines w/pump. 3 months later the water pump goes & all that shit needs to be taken apart again & replaced, including a new timing belt. You just paid, what, 2 times the parts & 10 hrs of labor - not good. |

Re: Maintance Required light blinking to much
ok good, ill look into getting the coolant replaced, when we bought the car my dad took it to a local, very good honda shop and had the crank case seal, timing belt, and water pump and a few other things replaced for added reliability and what not.

Re: Re: Maintance Required light blinking to much
The coolant should have been changed with the water pump, but it won't hurt to check. Another thing, Honda/Acura brakes should be serviced every 15K or so, Honda recommend 7500 miles. Basically take them apart, clean, inspect, lube, *adjust*(drum), & compress pisonts.
