90 CRX Chk Engine (The Saga Continues!)

Help!!

I wrote a blurb a few days ago cuz my 90 CRX (D15B2) was throwing an intermitten check engine light after prolonged operation at high speed.

The recommendation was to go to junkyard and get a distributor, which I did, and just installed now.

Things have gone from bad to *worse* w/ the junkyard dizzy. I got it in and fired the car up, and now I have new symptoms .... :/

1) The car takes 30 seconds plus of cranking to start
2) When it *does* start, I get the check engine lite *all* the time now w/ a 4 flash (crank angle sensor) error.

Questions:

1) Is the crank angle sensor within the distributor? The Haynes book says it is located "between the distributor and the cylinder head" but I don't see anything else around it I might have bumped or jiggled.

2) If the crank sensor *is* within the distributor, can the crank angle sensor be replaced individually?

3) Is replacing it hard?

4) Would I have been better off to shell out the $250 or so for a rebuilt distributor??

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Scott

sounds like the dizzy is bad, the crank angle sensor is in the distributor.

I would buy a other one.

also are you sure you have the timing set properly ? because my ZC ran for 8 months with the crank angle sensor CEL on... weird thing the car worked fine.

also if you want I have a DPFI distributor missing the coil (used the coil to replace my B16 coil, the coil from your old dizy will fit it fine) in my garage that I'm not using and I know this one is good I pulled it from my Civic that blew a control arm.

let me know we could work something out.
