Help! When we purchased our 1997 Caravan the dealer did not have the remotes. We have now discovered that you can purchase the remotes and the van is equipped for keyless entry but apparently it is a BIG secret for programming. We did not receive an auto manual either although we have ordered one.
We have continued to sink $$$$ after $$$$ for miscellaneous repairs and would like to avoid paying a dealer any $$$ for remote programming. I am guessing that the instructions would be the same of a Chrysler T&C or Plymouth Voyager but nobody has given instructions for programming remotes for those either. Does Chrysler want to keep this a big secret? Can anyone help? |

Re: 1997 keyless programming
If you have a working and programmed remote, then it's an easy sequence to program another, up to 4 remotes I think. But, if you don't have a working/programmed remote, you will have to flash the Body control Module with a Chrysler DRB Scantool. It is not a big secret, but you need the scantool to program a new one or else anyone with a chrysler remote could make it work on your vehicle! Not good. I don't imagine it takes but 5 minutes to do the programming.
