Lightbulb engine swap tips

first of all, hi guys! ive been lurking around here for a while now and learned shiiiiteloads. ive got a few questions that some of you might be able to help me on. first of all i own an accent. its nice and all, but id like it to pack a bit more of a punch, so engineswap springs to mind.

i could relatively easily and cheaply get hold of a 2.0 16v engine and gearbox to replace my current one. now, what do i have to look at when buying a used engine? is it even possible to fit that into a hyundai accent coupe si? how hard is it? has anyone here done it before and what problems did you run into. also more importantly what else would i have to upgrade with the engine?

Check out www.hyundaiperformance.com. You'll find a lot more comprehensive help there. And BTW, there's no such thing as an Accent Si.

bmt: hehe, no worries man. i should have said ima uk fellow. :P

tibby: yeah thats what im aiming for. its the last time i let my teacher rip my ass on the road. i cant wait to see the look on his face when he gets crused by a car that cost 15000 pounds less than his . oh yeah. its probably gonna take a while to perform this swap. im reading books and different documentation on the net and trying to get as much info as i can. as for weight, im gonna try reducing the weight by around 200lb. my time estimate right now is by sept 2004 the new engine should be in

i dont know why you posted this in here...next time, it would be better if you posted a new topic.

ok. no forced induction kits are out for the accents that i know of YET. www.speedfactor.com is still designing one i think. the general big performance mod for accents is to swap in the 2.0 beta engine. read this page for more info.
