Question Looking for N* swap help

I am new here but have been on a few other forums. I have looked into do a motor swap for about 4 months. I have desided on doing the Northstar swap. I have bought a motor from a 93 Cadillac Seville STS, it has the L37 300 H.P., when I bought the motor I bought everything, ECM, wiring harness, starter, oil cooler, motor mounts, tubing, A/C compressor, and the alternator.
I have a small idea on how to complete the swap I was hoping to get some good advise from someone that has done the swap or knows what they are talking about. I really don't get online much but I will check here every so often, please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Re: Looking for N* swap help

I can only offer small advices because after all my repower was for a SeriesI 3800, not a N*. But my biggest advice is stick at it! Don't let anything, ANYTHING, knock you down.

I got loads of negativity about my project... 'oh you won't ever make that go... oh that's stupid...' and so on... ignore it, a Fiero with power is something beautiful. Good luck!

Engine problems?!?!? If taken care of they run an easy 200-300 miles, easy!!!!!! The one thing is they like the new oil in them, you need the change it about every 2000 - 2500 miles and if there is a leak it should never go low, and that any due to the cams being up top. And if they are rebuilt they have cyl. cores or inserts.
"Engine problems???????" Name them for me!!!!!!

I have just found out that when I mount the Northstar to the Fiero cradle the front cross memeber doesn't need to be cut and relocated, an oil filter relocation kit will fix that problem but finding one is a different story, can anyone help me find one?

P.S. I have worked out a deal with Spec and we are building a custom flywheel and going to use a stage 3 clutch for under $650. Going to be using a Beretta Getrag 5 speed and use Rodney Dickmen FWD to RWD kit for $90, I have got the ECM chip going to be reprogrammed soon for $200 and that will take care of the passkey, ABS, autotrans., and airbag problem with the computer. Plus the reprogram gives it an extra 20 H.P.
