Question Honda engine codes

Don't seem to find my 5th. gen Civic engine matching any on your list - mine is ME416. Got any clues?

I'm in Malaysia and the Civic I have is a locally assembled version dubbed the EXi hatchback. It's got a SOHC 1.6 non-VTEC engine with manual gearbox and without a cat system. I suspect this is an older generation engine.

ME416 isn't a honda engine code. It might be a D16A6.

me thinks you looking at the wrong thing. it whould be left of the header. there should be some other numbers leters there but the d16z6 or whatever will be engraved in the block. it can be hard to see if it is dirty.

I had a good look at it again and the no. stamped on the block says ME416 _ _ _ _ _ _. I think the closest spec that I've seen to this engine is the D16A6. If so does anyone know what possible power upgrades are available for this engine?

According to my Civic manual:
D16A6: 1.6L SOHC with cat.
D16A7: 1.6L SOHC no cat.
So maybe its a D16A7

Do they sell Rovers where you live? I know that for a while Rover used Honda drivetrains with different designations. I had a friend with a 90 to 93 Rover and it was Honda all the way, but the engine code was different, I know that it was a D16a6, but had some goofy number on it.

We do have some Rovers running here but they're rare and most are 2.0L. Anyway, looks like the closest is bracer's info - D16A7.
