Synthetic anyone-?

How doth you feel about synthetic oil in the KA24DE motor? Does anyone use it? Does it help? Should I even bother? I have never used syn oil in any car but I heard once you use it you can never use regular oil again. Is this true or what?
Some guy told me to use syn oil because of the rigorousness of drifting on a motor. I might also ask what is the best differential oil to use from what I'm putting my car through-?

That Is Bull About Once You Use It You Can Never Go Back. Most Of The Synthetics Now Are Designed To Interchange. Synthetics Has Benefits And Downsides Like Real Oil. Synthetics Can Handle High Heats Before Break Down, Flow Easier, And Have A Better Coat On Engine Parts And Etc. Some Synthetics Are Ultra Thin Though And When Cold Tend To Chunk Or Slime Which Is Strenous On The Motor Having To Break In Down Back Into Oil.

In This Day And Age With The Addatives Oil Companies Are Using They Can Make Any Oil Better, The Best Oil You Can Buy Is A Blend Of Natural And Synthetic Because Then You Get The Best Of Both Worlds.

What makes the KA special than any other piston engine? I used durablend in my KA and it worked just fine.

Her reply wasnt snide at all, she was just making a point.

Synthetic oil is pretty much better in every way than natural oil. It costs more because it works better. It will improve life and stress factor on any engine besides a rotary, which it will destroy. If you have some engine noise, heavier weight oil (40w or higher) will usually cover it up.

Except in high mile-age engines. You dont want to put synthetic in an engine with over 100k. Synthetic is, in general, not good for older seals and gaskets. Unless its a synth specifically designed for high-mileage engines, go with regular 10-30 or 40. Dont let them put 5-30 in either.

Used It For Over A Year And It Runs Like A Champ.

not all synthetic oils are bad for rotories, but most are... but synthetic is better for piston engines

Sure, it isnt going to blow up your engine overnight. It wont seriously damage your high-mileage engine, but considering that regular oil will be healthier for it, why pay more for synth?

Sythetic Oil Is Better For Older Engines Because Of Its Coating Factor And Its Ability To Pull Metal Shards Away From Moving Parts. I Have Taken Many Classes On Lubrication For My Job And They All Recommend Synthetic Or Multi-blend Over Natural For Many Reasons. A Multi-blend Is The Best Oil You Can Buy As Of Now Because It Uses The Best Properties From Both Oils And Improves Them.
