Question Help 93 surburban...

New to this board,, but frequent the 67-72 board, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
OK, guys, need your help, I gave up on this last week, and took it to the only mechanic I trust in town, and asked him to hook it up to his computer.. it was not idling, and shifing bad, and you had to rev it up to 4k and then take your foot off the gas to get it to shift. I checked all plug wires and plugs.. replaced the distrubter cap.. no go.. checked all lines,, it had a code 43, for a long time, and I replaced the knock sensor, and it did not fix the code,, well that was a year ago and it ran fine then.. currently now has a new ignition module, and distb. cap, when he ran the codes, it had tons.. that also were conflicting each other on codes,, e.g. trans too hot,, trans too cold etc.... I replaced the computer with a rebuilt one,, we believe it is good, because now we are back to the code 43,, only,, the truck will run great when we reset everything for 10 minutes,, then go down and no idle or power.... he is not at his wits end as well.... I dont feel so bad, since I couldn't fix it... he says that the timing is not advancing at all and the computer is not telling it to advance, the wire to the module is good and not shorted, and the actual computer is not telling it to advance. Is there another sensor or module that signals the computer to advance the timing? we even removed the knock sensor and still no difference, it is good and power is going there, but still shows code 43,, HELP! its been 3 days now and we cannot figure it out... ok here are the stats,,, 93 chevy surburban,, 4x4, 350 engine, 4l60E trans. ideas?

Been there done that.

Take the dist out and remove the Pole Piece, flip it upside down and look for cracks from the shaft outward. and see if the pole piece (little star looking wheel press fit to the shaft) moves at all. if it is loose on the shaft or has crackes get a new one. when reinstalling it check the bushings inside the dist shaft housing (top and bottom)good chance they are wiped out to. hae fun.
