Need advice on computer / transmission.

I own a 1995 Aurora with 71,000 miles. We purchased the car a little over a year ago and the transmission started shifting hard after 1500 miles of use.I was told it was a sensor inside the transmission that would cost 850.00 to install ( part was 88.00).I was told by another mechanic it was an outside sensor-we paid 450.00 and it did the same thing after 200 miles.

two weeks ago I had another transmission put it-the other was pretty chewed up 7 won't shift out of second gear.

Now here's the problem-the transmission works in all gears but is still shifting hard.The service engine light is still on even after the new transmission.The mechanic said it is the computer under the dash and will need to replace it.

Has anyone had any similar problems and what would you recommend.

Is it a used tranny ? did he tell you what the code is ?

It is a used tranny.What's with the code?

With the service engine soon light on there should be a code in the vihicles computer.
