1995 Century oil problem

Very low mileage 95 Century seems to use or lose lots of oil. Now the oil light flickers intermittently at times even when the oil level is full. The car runs well, does not smoke, and I do not find oil in the coolant or on the ground. My wife is a jackrabbit driver and this is her car. It is used for 5 mile trips to and from work and shopping. I can't seem to cure the driver problem so I need to find out what is happening with the car and try to maximize its life. Help!
